About
GPAP puts advanced bioinformatic tools, AI-powered insights, and secure data sharing into the hands of researchers, clinicians, and health teams working across human, animal, and environmental health — regardless of technical background, budget, or location.

GPAP grew out of a simple observation: the genomic data needed to detect and prevent outbreaks is already being generated — in hospitals, field labs, and universities across the world. What's missing is the infrastructure to act on it.
Built on decades of One Health research and genomic surveillance at the Technical University of Denmark, the University of Copenhagen, and Statens Serum Institut, GPAP brings together scientific expertise, AI, and a deep commitment to equity to fill that gap. With the support of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we are building the platform we always needed but never had — free, open, and co-created with the communities who need it most.
These are the people leading the development and vision for GPAP.

Co-creation starts with a real-world use case: a priority challenge that stakeholders want to solve. These use cases help us identify the data, tools, and workflows needed to address that challenge. At the same time, stakeholder input continuously shapes the development and testing of solutions.

Challenge
Recurrent Salmonella outbreaks in a large multi-species aviary result in substantial juvenile bird mortality. Understanding transmission pathways and translating genomic data into practical interventions remains challenging.
Solution
Support genomic characterization of circulating strains and their antimicrobial resistance, identify transmission pathways, provide standardized workflows and user-friendly reporting tools, and help translate genomic insights into targeted biosecurity and disease-control measures.
